JELA
もうすぐ節分ですね！
節分といえば古来から豆まきの文化がありますが、近年は恵方巻を食べる習慣が定着しました♪
今年の恵方は西南西だそうです！
ではなぜ巻きずしなのでしょうか？ もともと大阪近郊の一部の人から広まった習慣で、「巻く」ということから「福を巻き込む」、「切らずに食べる」ことから「縁を切らない」という意味が込められているという説が有力なのだそうです！
勉強になりましたね！

Setsubun day is coming!!
To speak of Setsubun, we Japanese scatter
roasted soybeans to drive demons away. But in recent years, taking a bite into Ehomaki
which is like hand-rolled sushi have become common in Japan.
Fortunate direction of this year is
west-southwest♪
But why hand-rolled sushi “makizushi” !?
“Maki in Japanese” means spooling up fortune
and “Hand-rolled sushi usually never slice off and eat” means “friendship or
marriage tie never slice off.”
